Had anyone here actually read this? Is it actually good? Actually a shit meme? Be honest.

It's good, just very long winded and repetitive. Since there's no art Moore like to go overboard with the descriptions, but he's great at it.

Ebin maymay friendo lel xDDD
I liked it, but then I'm predisposed to like weird visionary art and the ramblings of madmen. The first volume is largely little vignettes of Northampton, establishing his aesthetic ideas about the sublime within the squalid and working-class - this bit you read for the prose, mainly - then Mansoul starts to pull it together into an actual narrative. Overall, I can understand why some people gave up early on, but it's better than it has any right to be. Definitely give it a go if you like Blake.

Yes?

So his prose holds its own? That's good to hear. I was really excited for it, but had other books ahead of it on my list.

Morrison's good, but not quite on the level of From Hell or Moore's spoken word pieces when it comes to style or literary influence - he does intelligent things with pulp tropes, but ultimately there's only so much you can say in that area.

Hm.
I thought Pax America took the art form to a new level, myself.

I would say the subject matter holds up more than his prose, which is simple but good. In later chapters he goes more unconventional but nothing too crazy.
