i am looking for a writer/philosopher/poet/author whatever who fits this description the best:

I'd consider "not taking self too seriously" and "pessimistic" to be contradictory, so I don't think you'll find any philosopher who can fit this.

But Zapffe is all of the above on the more pessimistic side, and Emerson is similar but on the optimistic side
