What is /lit/'s general consensus on Dune? Is it an enjoyable read, or is it not worth the time?
Star Wars knock off.
C-3PO mentions Spice in the first movie for fuck's sake.

If you think sci-fi should be about ideas (hint: yes it should) then you'll love it.
If you think sci-fi should be about mindless escapism, steer well clear.
High school tier, easy way to spot an idiot if you see someone with this book in university.

How much shitposting goes on in /lit/?
Also, it was a fun read. It's not really that deep.
Fremen = Arabs. Spice = Oil.
Cool ideas and story.
Very amateurish and lackluster writing.
I enjoy the way it's written. It's kind of awkward and clunky but in a way that feels like you're reading an account of real events and people that have been translated and re-translated and ossified over time, rather than just being bad to begin with. I think it purely depends on the reader.
