What book(s) should I read to be come a deeper, more philosophical, more articulate person? I'm doing this half for myself and half to appeal to women more.

Just because you're unable to improve yourself doesn't mean others are too

this anon's not right, but he's trying to say something helpful... the truth is, if you think you need books to appeal to a type of woman, you're probably deluding yourself that that's the kind of woman you want/need. there are plenty of ways to impress women, and if reading and studying philosophy don't come naturally to you, you'd end up wasting a lot of time with something you don't feel strongly towards, and by trying to convince a girl that you're deep/intellectual, which would ultimately make you feel false or distant once you became closer, knowing that you were attempting to hold up some kind of persona.
god damn, man.
read poetry though. start with donne and spencer. if you can make it through them, try wordsworth, coleridge, and keats.

And that's where you're going wrong.
