russian american here, ive never spoken to my dad about anything. we never talked to each or spent time with another. most of my russian american friends, its the same way. hes was kind of alot like tony of the sopranos though, not a great dad

How are you guys deciding whether your dad is a "father figure"?

I don't think I've ever had a conversation with my dad. He certainly didn't teach me about girls or any of the Disney bullshit this fucker >>9022657 listed. But he did teach me how to drive, made me do bullshit chores on some weekends, and made a half-assed effort to teach me the carpentry and wood-working skills he has. He certainly wasn't an instructor or a philosopher-king to me, but he also absolutely never spent money on himself.

Do people actually have dads that teach them shit and talk to them? Ones that you can have a grown up conversation with now that you are also an adult? I'm not even bitter or resentful. Just curious.
