I know i'm going to ask something quite unrelated to this board, but do any of you guys feel an urge of exercising after reading too much? Like, i start to think that i'm being too sedentary and physically unactive and get a bit unquiet by that feeling. Does this happen to any of you? And do you guys think it's possible to be an intellectual and physically active at the same time?

>No man has the right to choose physical training over wisdom. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty of truth and wisdom while wasting time on the strength his body is capable of.

Here we have the typical reader of books: picking unnecessarily complex words to seem more well-read and intelligent, when in fact it has the opposite effect and makes you look quite childish. I am embarrassed for you.

>And do you guys think it's possible to be an intellectual and physically active at the same time?

What, like reading a book while squatting? Maybe, try it out.

Now I'm being charitable with that interpretation. If what you meant was "can one be physically fit and well read at the same time?" The answer is of fucking course you retard. If you workout 4 hours a week for 2 years you'll be in better shape than 99% of the population, you have all the time you need you're shitposting on 4chan for christ's sake. Go to /fit/, read the sticky, SS is not a meme, go fucking lift.

Exercise is wonderful in nearly all forms. Your intellectual engagement while exercising should be on your own terms - be it zoning out and daydreaming while walking, or reading while on a stationary bike.

Weightlifting requires full attention, as well as a great deal of focus, but is still rewarding.

And yes, anon, I understand your feel. I've been fat and fit, it's better to be fit. Trying to get back there myself.

The brain is part of the body.

When the body is at peak performance, the brain is at peak performance.

Besides that, physical training is a good way to learn the discipline required to properly interpret literature.

Lifting for aesthetics is a meme but exercise is good. Do squats.

intense cardiovascular exercise, preferably involving some moderate amount of elevation gain, is one of the greatest feelings you can experience, namely: suffering.

you cannot train the mind without exhausting the body. dont ignore this feeling op. run, cycle, swim, climb, lift, stretch, practice gymnastics (/fit/bwg/). all of it. read the ancients, the medievals, the moderns, the postmoderns. all of it. philosophy, poetry, short stories, novels. all of it.

its impossible to be an intellectual without also being physically active. youre not a man if you dont deadlift. it is a product of your oppression that you think intense physical activity is for the dull.

reject cartesian dualism, radically unify your being, speak your truth, and become an unstoppable force of nature.

godspeed OP.

"Unquiet" or "agitated" come much more naturally than "restless" to people with Latin-derived first languages. In Spanish, for example, it's "inquieto"; in Italian, "agitato"; in French, "agité".

"Restless" has Germanic/old English roots. Many EU people find it harder to remember.

Same with "phantasm" vs "ghost".

No, never. I've been feeling exhausted for years. It takes me tremendous willpower to walk, let alone exercise. During daylight I can't think either, but my brain starts working at around 10 pm until 5-6 am. Those are my productive hours.
