All too true. The lower worlds are composed of dead matter from the higher worlds. Arthur ornsby the name hints that the story of King arthur we thought was being riffed in this world of chivalry without Christ is but another debased myth, an echo of reality. The king here is at fault for helping the order of worship turn upside down. The books are commentary on fantasy as maturation and didactic tools. Able matures as a knight by not using a sword and as a wizard by not using magic. His example teaches others. I haven't decided if this system is purgatorial in nature, but able winds up in aelfrice, the lower place, at the end.

Do you all think the Wizard Knight Companion is necesarry if you feel like you didn't understand the finer details of the duology? Like I get the story, characters and basic themes coming from Wolfe's background but the depth some people find in it makes me think I'm lost in some places
