Dearest /lit/,
I just went through a bad breakup. Now I come home from work every day to an empty two bedroom apartment and ask myself what for. I need something to read. Perhaps something consolatory, perhaps something which merely offers a little escape. I need something to fill the empty time in this empty time.

I have read this and I liked it a lot.
This is perhaps irrelevant but my favorite things to read are Nietzsche, Sophocles and Shakespeare.

Read War & Peace. It's written in a pretty simple style, it's heavy but not in a way that's painful for someone going through a breakup, and it's healing and comfy at the end.
I read it after a really, really bad breakup and it put a lot of things in perspective and made me feel like a person again. I would highly recommend you don't read Anna Karenina.

Oh and it's 1200 pages so it's easy to escape into for a pretty solid amount of time, and intensely.
