my uni library is extremely bizarre, in the fiction shelf there isn't a single classic or good book, only shit for kid and teenagers (in a fucking university)

then, theres a religion shelf and there is lots of Bible editions, a Koran, some Spiritism books, some esoteric magic stuff and some religious chinese books IN FUCKING CHINESE

Have you a university nearby? The library there is probably pretty fucking great, and they will often let you check out books after a one time 'friend of the library' fee (100ish at my university, or so I'm told). For such a fee, you get access to a world class library that will network with world class libraries to get you what you want.

My library system is amazing, and has a donation bookstore. 25 cents a paperback, a buck a hardcover. My home library consists of books from here, and I've found some absolute classics.
