Daedalus myth was simply about not being hubristic. You can't say it was against technology as Daedalus knew of the limits and told Icarus that, but he didn't listen. The Greek audience to such myth wouldn't even interpret it as such--it isn't like they were in a situation like ours where technology has made our lives too easily and it requires extensive resources and skill to maintain such technological infrastructure--back then, I'm sure they were very greatful for any innovative blacksmith that made them better arms and armor than their enemies; or for engineers for building better ramparts to protect their State from Thracian-niggers and for the convenience of wells, bridges, and roads; or doctors whenever they found a seemingly apparent cure or solution for an issue they have; or a ship-builder for making a more efficient, longer-lasting, and durable ship so that they don't drown while transporting crucial grain and other goods to their land.
