Do you guys read multiple books at once, or just try to finish one book at a time?

I read many books at once. I hate it because I end up reading the same few books for a long time, but I can't help it.
Right now I'm reading 5 books. 1 poetry, 1 fiction, 1 political, 1 philosophical and 1 ancient text...Plus I always have my bibles out on my desk. When I read the bible I can't help but compare passages/translation/annotations etc.
Too scatterbrained. But like I said it gets frustrating and I end up in a slump sometimes where I don't want to read at all.

I usually have 2 books going at once. Often one non-fiction, the other fiction.
Several.
Only one full cohesive whole work, but several collections of short stories, essays, poems etc.

Normally between 2-4 at a given time. I'll go weeks without finishing anything, and then in two days I'll end up finished 3 books at once. It's weird how it times out, because I normally pick up a door stopper, a shorter novel, and a collection of short fiction, but finish them all close together.
Right now I'm only reading one for once becausemy fiancee left me for another man and I haven't been back to get all of my books yet.

>my fiancee left me for another man
Is this what happens when you read too many books at once?
Recently switched to one at a time, not counting collections of poetry. I was struggling to remember how arguments went, so I started outlining them as I was reading. It takes a little more time and I don't feel like switching to another book right after

I have one fiction book I do the bulk of my reading in, one philosophy book I read about 10 pages a day, and currently a bible I read until I fall asleep. Works pretty well.

Is it because his brain is bigger than yours?
Usually one book and I read short stories all the time basically.

I have always one going in different languages: one in english, one in swedish or other scandi language, one in finnish, one in german and one in french

currently i'm reading 2 books at a time.
i focus 80% of my reading time in the main book, and 20% on the secondary book.
usually, the secondary book is short stories or non-fiction
sometimes i make plans, like reading 40 pages of the main book/day and reading 1 chapter (or 12 pages, or some comfy number) per day
