Yo homies, is it necessary to have read the Iliad before starting the Aeneid? I've read the Odyssey at least in parts but I've yet to touch any of the Iliad and I know the whole volume division structure of the journey elements in the first half versus the warfare elements of the second half of the Aeneid, but I'm wondering if there's gonna be anything I miss out on because of that.
Its always necessary to start with the Greeks.

Not necessarily no. But imo Iliad and odyssey are better anyways. Aeneid just played with the structure and elaborated a bit.

Oh I don't know, is it necessary to read a book before reading its fanfiction?

Is it hard for Americans think of it as if it was the third movie in a series, and act accordingly?
