I'm not so sure but I'm pretty sure he satires a lot of trends in the 60s(?) like hallucinogenics and Beatles rip offs, you'll probably find more if you know a lot about that time period. I don't so I just enjoyed the book because it's a great representation of paranoia and very interesting
