Balance between to extremes is usually a decent measure. I think we envoy music idealistically speaking, because it simulates emotion and life. One note held at the same pitch and volume without any sort of variation is boring and unmusical because it has no pattern. Yet music with no repetition and sense also lacks this quality. Some balance must be made, but the decision on where the balance is is subjective.
You can make forms of qualities but perfect representations of these are not musical and lifelike. Music, in theory, should be an instrument of expression, and is good based on its ability to do so.
yet maybe even this can be too extreme. Think of excessively sad or angry music.

That being said. The Beatles are objectively the best band ever.
