What's a good book on Napoleon? I know very little about him, and I want to watch pic related soon. I'd prefer already knowing some of his history beforehand. Any recs for good books on him?

That film caught my eye as well.
As recommended above, "napoleon: a life" is excellent for napoleon the man. Maybe less up your alley but worth mentioning is chandler's "campaigns of napoleon" which focuses on his military actions, is far superior to "a life" in that respect, and from what I know remains unparalleled in investigating its topic.
"A life" is great, but the maps are shit and the diagrams are just okay.
