Does anyone have any recommendations for literature or philosophy podcasts?
My commute to work is too noisy to properly concentrate on a book half the time.

History of philosophy without any gaps
It's pretty good

That quote is wrong
It's
>The light music of whisky falling into glasses made an agreeable interlude.
From his short story Grace.
It's just an alright descriptive sentence that could've been written by any other decent writer, but the quote in the OP makes Joyce seem like a pleb. The quote in the OP makes Joyce sound like a pleb. He sounds like a pseud.

To this I would add 'The Partially Examined Life' a philosophy podcast by a bunch of rather funny former philosophy grad students. Their base of covered material is sporadic yet consiatent. Their style opens occassionally into banter (yet always remaining on topic)
In Our Time
Loads and loads of literature, philosophy, civilisation etc podcasts

Frank Delaney's podcast on Ulysses. It's more about the references than the writing itself, though. The Teaching Company also has something on Ulysses but I haven't started it yet.

Yale and Stanford Open Courses function the same and are often pretty fuckin good. The teaching companies audio files are too fucking big but they work on audible and during home streaming.
Their recent course on irish identity was GREAT for /lit/ lovers, and I got some good reading out of it.
