The only reason I own physical books is to impress my house guests. How about you?

With those books, I really hope this is sarcasm.
This is a joke right?

HAVE YOU READ MCELROY?
HAVE YOU READ GASS?
HAVE YOU READ YOUNG?
HAVE YOU READ FRANK?
HAVE YOU READ MOORE?
HAVE YOU READ MARLEY AND ME?
"House guests"? I buy books for me, not to impress the handful of folks in a year who might have any opinion on my shelves.

why don't you have people over more often. I have friends over for dinner almost every week. we usually discuss the books we are reading and general life things.

I'm not impressed, Kenneth.

It's a few different reasons for me.
For children, because I don't think the experience of reading books on an IPad is the same. For the fun of collecting, because I have a cataloger's mind. For the rare books, because they don't have ebooks available. For the note-taking aspect, since there's nothing on Kindles that is easier than taking notes right in the book (the one with a keyboard was better, but it's still faster to write).
It never impresses anyone that comes over. My spouse just thinks they're annoying.

I haven't tried e-readers, but I just can't really concentrate on pc or mobile media.
