So what does she read?
>>8885867
Mostly Jk Rowling.

I mean Harry Potter is some nice childhood nostalgia but goddamn. Is she trying to be a shitty YA fantasy author or something because that ship has sailed.
>>8885867
Kelly Armstrong

She's writing her masters thesis on the latent homosexual tendencies of Hagrid, so she's been rereading the series lately.

hahahahahahahaha

I don't understand the joke? Rowling has alot of nuance and subtle hints on the topic. Somebody has to explain what Rowling really means.
Why do you care about what other people read? Go read a book yourself, asshole.

This is common unfortunately. Some "white dude" will mention Pynchon in a mostly female class and people's eyes start to glaze over, but mention Harry Potter or the Legends of Korra (not even a book) and suddenly everybody is talking and trying to get their two cents in. I saw a girl driven to the brink of tears because the "white dude" professor criticized the exposition dumps in popular YA novels.
I'm beginning to admit to myself that the STEM superiority meme is true, because at this point almost any program must be better than lib arts, the social "sciences" or creative writing. It's sad because to me that's what university is about: reading and writing, not programming and lab work.

of course, only stupid people can ignore these giants of the past (and yeah, there are plenty of women there too)
>>8888696
>or the Legends of Korra
