Hey, /mu/ here. I'm wondering what the best books by musicians or about music are. I recently read pic related (because Nick Cave is one of my fav artists) and it was some nice light poetry/tour memoir material.
Have you read The Secret Diary of Curt Kobain?

No, I can't say I have. Would you recommend it?

Well, yes, but first, someone'll have to write it

People seem to like Morrissey's autobiography a whole lot. I read it and I wasn't very impressed, sorta masturbatory. David Byrne's How Music Works is worth reading if you're a Talking Heads fan, imo.

I love when unfunny people think they're funny

He would only let Penguin publish it under their Classic's label. He's a fraud
Autobiography of Miles Davis was pretty good.

His first one came out in 2014, Wolf in White Van, good read.
Seconding Beautiful Losers, too.

Pic related seems interesting but it's for charity and the select few hardbacks are expensive.
>musicians writing short kids stories.

Seconding The Wolf in White Van
Also Patti Smith's Just Kids is a nice, comfy read if you're into 70s NY at all. I tried reading her second book but just couldn't get into it.
