Baudelaire is great. Loved him in junior high, though the translators do make a huge difference to the poem quality.
I accidentally terrorized my Grade 8 French class by reciting "Les Litanies de Satan" with a friend for our "read something French to the class" assignment. I was a 14 year-old metalhead, so we turned off the lights, fired up a red lamp I had brought on the floor, and chanted the whole thing in the dark like we were performing a black magic ritual. We alternated couplets, and intoned "Ô Satan, prends pitié de ma longue misère!" together every time. It was great, but apparently several of the more easily freaked-out kids ran home and said I had been summoning the Devil or conducting a seance in school, etc., and the teacher and I had to answer some very silly questions.

This is literally the worst book to "get into reading". It's a very translator depending and varying, obscure poetry volume.
