I really want to like Neuromancer but I can't stop cringing at all the characters. Are all his books like this?

They're corny as fuck but it gets better. The ending of Neuromancer is really cool (and a couple of the people introduced later on are interesting). Just focus less on the characters and more on the action and sci-fi concepts.

Neuromancer is one of the best works of science-fiction, and certainly the best cyberpunk novel written by Gibson. That of course makes it the best cyberpunk novel.
So no, they're worse. desu I dunno why you'd cringe though. Like it's not exactly top-100 literature but the characters aren't cringey.
The fact that the characters are corny actually work with the book. Society has done this to them.
