Help me pick my next book to read. Sister really wants to gift me a book and said pick one. I've read all hunter Thompson- liked it. Damn near exhausted the beatniks, Steinbeck, Hemingway. I know these are all very meme-y but just genuinely looking for a solid suggestion. I like non fiction or believable fiction (not really sci-fi tho Dick is cool) .... so I guess what I'm looking for is - one book you would recommend to your friend

Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace. If you liked those books you'll love Infinite Jest and even if you didn't like those books its regarded as one of the best books of all time so you should definitely read it.
