How many books does /lit/ actually READ?
By this I mean, how much of a book can you actually remember? How much of it has entered your mind at a deep level, so that it will always be a part of you, and you will be influenced by it without knowing this is happening?
hopefully all of them
None and/or all of them.

i don't read i just come here to pit my rhetorical skills against someone who has more knowledge than myself because it feels pretty good.

Depends if it's good or not.

if i liked the book i'll be able to retell it
but i also read quite slowly

I often have to read a number of books a day and also have to remember the bulk of the material, so we'll be in like 1000+
when i was in my early 20s, i read the brothers karamazov and it struck me as the most profound thing i've ever read.
now i'm in my 30s and i reread it this year and it turns out i remembered absolutely nothing at all about it, it was like reading a book for the first time
all i remembered was the vague sensation of profundity rather than anything specific at all
Lots of them. Name a book I've read and I'll be able to dredge up most of the important parts from my memory, given time.
I can remember, quite verbosely, everything I've read.
