Well Lolita is Nabokov's most famous work. Many, like myself until recently hadn't read anything else of his. That being said I'm reading Ada at the moment and it's at least as good as Lolita.

Laughter in the Dark was ok for what it was, but it was cheesy and he was trying too hard to make it "cinematic" because that's what he was into when he wrote it. I don't know why anyone would bother with The Original of Laura because he never even finished even half of it.
