"How to Subvert all that is Good and Healthy Create a Depressed Pig-Sty Population" by Horowitz Goldbergstein

of course its good its one of the, if not the most prominent frankfurt school works, but while Adorno's negativity and elitism is great reading and thought and all that, it lacks the certain dialectical brow so to speak that permeates all half-decent marxist thought - it doesn't really take the good with the bad.
I am interested in the lines of thought on modernity and progress - see Walter Benjamin's theses on the philosophy of history for similar notions of progress - progress is not always forward motion as we see it, moreso it is forward motion for some and backwards for others.
overall, worth reading I just appreciate a little optimism with my cynicism so it all boils down to personal aesthetic taste
