Speak for yourself, I'm on my fourth rereading of À la recherche du temps perdu
>what is for-normie typesetting?

I read this after it came out because I had never read a Stephen King book. It was mediocre but very easy to blow through. It baffles me that people can read Atlas Shrugged all the way through, I quit when they got to Galt's Gulch.

This. 50 pages of Jerusalem or Ulysses take more effort than a 250+ genre ""novel""

Jerusalem was a grand read though. Fecking love that clouds unfold chapter
I'm thankful for these literature police threads. How can I go about my day not having made fun of casual readers even once!

For those who have read this, did you find some of the slang jarring? It's been a while but I particularly remember the skateboarder kid using slang that was more appropriate for the 1980s.
There were so many odd anachronisms I went back at one point to see if I'd missed when it was set. And I half expected a twist involving them being in some sort of time warp or experiment.
It's like one of his kids was into skating in the 80s and he just went with what he remembered. Kill you to do a little research, Steve?
Is Stephen Spielberg just misunderstood?
