What do you think about drinking and reading? Is it fun? Too

Just makes it hard to concentrate.

I get too libidinal when I drink, I only want to do things that don't require intellectual stimulation. Smoking weed is preferable for reading and writing for me, but just a little as too much can do the same as alcohol

I don't like it. Probably a good thing though, my nightly reading routine might be saving me from becoming an alcoholic.

The best shit is taking dissociatives and reading if you can manage it

It's alright if I'm finishing a novel but otherwise it's just an unnecessary attention blocker. Drinking on my own just makes me sleepy. Glad I'll never be an alcoholic at least.

i read very slowly when i'm drunk but it feels phenomenally rewarding in the moment.

i can rarely remember the feeling itself the next day -- not on a blackout level, rather, it's something that only manifests itself in the moment -- but i always end up with great notes. i may only make it through 10 pages because i reread every paragraph a few times, but i engage with those pages more than i normally would, maybe because of the sense of grappling with modified faculties.

i'm drinking a lovely diamondback i mixed with my sadly dwindling bottle of laird's bottled-in-bond and reading e.m. cioran's fall into time and listening to zeal and ardor right now and having just a wonderful time

I like to drink and I like to read, but I don't like to read while drinking. I don't like to do anything while I read, honestly. Reading demands my full attention.
