How do you guys deal with translations? I always feel so uncomfortable

i usually just don't even fuck with translations, unless they're generally acclaimed

I only read books in the original language, granted I know it(Which is pretty rare since I only know 3 language fluently.)

The problem is that I don't speak Russian but I really want to read Russian literature. I am already learning Mandarin and Classical Chinese and I was planning to learn French after that so I don't know if I'll ever get to learn Russian... Fuck. Why do I have to be so autistic?

My advice is probably worth less than a penny or two but I started learning a second language recently, americunt here btw.

I can't stand translations. For simple fact of translations like certain verbs or nouns its no big deal but most of the time I find translations to be horribly inaccurate with my native language(English). English doesn't convey the meaning behind the words properly even though I know English is far more descriptive. There's a lot of culture and meaning behind most languages and at least in America, words are ever little more than just words. Even the simplest of phrases to our most popular books, it's just a tool to get a message out and never a device to convey real emotion.
