Philosophy is a hallmark of a weak civilization. Truly strong civilizations dont need philosophy, for the strength of their arms is what makes them right

Look up American Pragmatism. C.S. Peirce, badass logician and real founder of semiotics, used an adaptive theory of reasoning to find a middle ground between realism & nominalism. James applied the ideas to psychology, Dewey to pedagogy, Holmes to law, and Mead to sociology.

Contemporary analytic philosophers dismiss it, but pragmatism is the only way to 1) agnowledge that a lot of our ideas are socially constructed & contingent and 2) not fall into nihilism, skepticism, or relativism. It suggests a method by which a community can work towards consensus.
