Lectures on aesthetics and Aristotle's poetics, probably.

Here's a thought: why don't you read what you've bought and start a discussion afterwards?

A bunch of theories that you will find irreverent after reading the book.

Try also Kant's and Schopenhauer's aesthetics, maybe Schiller, there are good Stanford/IEP articles on aesthetics so you can get an overview of how these guys were all grappling with the same newish kind of subject instead of just getting them in isolation. If you get bored of any of them, try Schopenhauer's for ease of reading, and don't forget Nietzsche's Birth of Tragedy, which is based on Schopenhauer, a great fucking read and just plain fun.

On the Poetics, be aware that it's a really tough read because it's so fragmentary and weird. If you constantly feel like you're not understanding the "point" or getting a clear vision of the whole argument in your head as this elegant thing, don't feel bad. The Poetics is fragmentary and probably compiled from lecture notes, whether Aristotle's or those of a student of his. It's also very confusing on many basic points, like what catharsis is (no one knows, really, but everyone grapples with it) and what he even means by certain categorisations or omissions. I can't remember exactly, but he passes over a couple things in a way that implies they SHOULD be talked about in the Poetics, but then he never does. So, are we wrong -- are they actually not "poetical?" Or is it just an artifact of the text that they weren't included? Did the guy taking notes find that shit boring? Try to read secondary materials on the Poetics ASAP (again try SEP/IEP) so that you can actually interpret it a little. It needs some historical context especially.

Try also reading Longinus on ekstasis when you're done.

Also if you're having problems wondering how some of these abstractions are relevant, keep in mind that modern art was born out of a milieu that took all of these writers VERY seriously. What we know as modern architecture was heavily inspired by guys steeped in Schopenhauer for example, and later in phenomenology.

When you're reading dry-ass Hegel and having trouble connecting him to reality, try to picture just how excited his contemporaries were to hear his thoughts on a subject that was basically NEW. This wasn't just ancient philosophy warmed over. Brilliant artists and architects were reading this stuff and basing legendary projects on it, forming their artistic consciousness on Kantian principles, etc.

The Poetics is mostly important for understanding 20th century literary theory. It's the kind of thing you have to read a few times, and read around, before enough of it sediments in your mind that the later literary theorists can call on it and you can understand them.
