It would help to work out something that works for you. Some writers do 400 words a day, some do one day on one day off, I do it 'whenever I feel like I haven't written enough'.

The book image is primarily for ADD people but it might give you some insight into how to balance your focus. Basically, they figured out that keeping music on helps some people focus better than silence.
