Joseph and His Brothers by Thomas Mann is imo a longer, less intellectual, and comfier (if you're reffering to the comfiness of the prose) version of The Magic Mountain. You should definitely read it if you liked The Magic Mountain. If you thought the milieu was comfy in The Magic Mountain try The Man Without Qualities by Robert Musil - it's also really long and really comfy.
In Search of Lost Time, at least the first book fits your request.
