I'm making a CD for a girl I like and want to enclose a poem along with it. Does anyone have any good suggestions? I'm leaning towards this love sonnet by Keats;
BRIGHT star! would I were steadfast as thou art—
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night,
And watching, with eternal lids apart,
Like Nature’s patient sleepless Eremite,
The moving waters at their priestlike task
Of pure ablution round earth’s human shores,
Or gazing on the new soft fallen mask
Of snow upon the mountains and the moors—
No—yet still steadfast, still unchangeable,
Pillow’d upon my fair love’s ripening breast,
To feel for ever its soft fall and swell,
Awake for ever in a sweet unrest,
Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,
And so live ever—or else swoon to death.

She'll be turned off by your fedora. Thou, ripening breast, swoon
Go for the safe route. Memorize it
Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

The first poem I ever fell in love with. Tbh if a girl doesn't like Keats then she's not worth my time.
Perhaps you might also like Desire by Coleridge:
Where true love burns desire is love’s pure flame;
It is the reflex of our earthly frame,
That takes its meaning from the nobler part,
And but translates the language of the heart.

This will not work out the way you hope it will.

Don't. Jewelry, not jewel case. Works every time. Birthstone is a good place to start.
I've given two girls poetry collections, the latest after only meeting her like three times. 75ish poems about her in a self-published hardcover book.
It worked out great and we are still dating. I am fucking crazy though.
hi i'm here from the future to tell you that this is definitely a good idea

>only meeting her like three times. 75ish poems about her
That's insane.
Just write her something like four lines. Something small and not so obvious but something she has taken notice of herself. Maybe the way she walks or blocks the sun from her eyes. Don't confess your undying love. It's not interesting. And don't use someone else's words. Your shit ones will be more meaningful

i've written a good few dozen about the same person, everyone knows that the OG thing to do is to mine it for it's worth creatively and then do nothing but jerk off and drink
