OP is asking us to name writers who we think are better than Dylan. Townes and Dylan are far more similar to each other than Dylan and whatever other authors /lit/izens would name drop.

Nobody is saying that Dylan isn't a poet. It's that his contributions to literature have been recognized and the award could have been better given to another artist whose work hasn't had the chance to reach as mainstream of an audience.
