Does lit care for book covers?
I try to get hardcover versions of books since they're more durable but, sometimes I'm just too fucking poor to buy a book new. If I do get a paperback used, I try not to get one with a real person on the cover.

70s cover art was so great
I buy cheap, usually used books, if they come with a nice cover then it's great, but I don't really care about that.
Sometimes. For LOTR definitely. French editions (not speaking about LOTR only) have good covers even for cheap editions most of the time. Much better than shitty photoshop US/UK novels.
But I like more and more old editions that just have the title with a cool font over a colored background.

usually not except if it is really nice art, not too abstract
Swedish edition of The Stranger.
Just fuck my cover up.

The thing I can't stand is that there are artists out the butt now willing to work for a sammich but covers have regressed to just font play or generic photo models.
I blame Excel.

>caring about the fucking covers on books and not their content
I honestly can't wait for this board to get deleted so you faggots won't know where we are and we will finally be free of your stupid shit.

I had those editions of "The Hobbit" and "The Return of the King". My edition of "The Two Towers" was pic related, though which I liked quite a bit.
To answer your question, I don't really care although I prefer to have a series to be all of the same edition.
