If we were to return to monarchies then naturally the elected would be the descendant of the throne in each particular country. If you mean how a ruler would be elected under natural order, it is more likely that the ruler would instead be an insurances company. Of course society would also be more guided by a natural aristocracy than politicians and household chiefs would have more authority on family matters than the government.
