Are there other authors similar to Matthew Reilly?
Jesus Christ for sure his books do not need much brain work to be read but they are entertaining as fuck, it feels like reading a videogame.

I'm not sure what you're implying here.
There's lots of authors like Matthew Reilly. There are also many better authors who write espionage thrillers. Try Tom Clancy, John Le Carre, Matthew Ludlum, Clive Cussler or Oan Fleming.
Read Raymond Chandler, OP
The Big Sleep first

I don't think so. Reilly is the only author I know who only writes with an on switch. No pacing, just faster, more intense.
If your appetite is for cheesy thrillers with a whiff off the fantastic - X-Files-ish - try Preston & Child. Their early stuff is best so don't start with the latest. Say, Relic through The Ice Limit.
Man I used to read all of his books back in the day. Temple was his best I reckon. We got 'hell island' for free with the newspaper once and that got me started. Recently bought his book 'troll island' or some shit at an airport because I was in a stupid mood and thought it might be fun, haven't read it yet.
Silly Op this is /lit/
Where we read books we don't enjoy, just to say we did.
