Why do you think that?
I've only read the P&V translation of his Collected Short Stories - while I enjoyed them I felt a lot was lost in translation. There's humour, absurdity, ambiguity and t's all very readable but somehow a lot of it just didn't click for me.
Maybe t's the translation? Is Dead Souls really worth looking into?
