It should be obvious that he's joking: he implies that Charlotte's Web should be a higher ranked book than In Search, and although he says that he loves books and that they're his life, he only reads half a dozen a year.

I have never before experienced the kind of atmosphere Proust creates.
It's so comfy, yet neurotic.
It was hard to follow at first, but once you get accustomed to the cadence of his prose you'll sink down into it like a fuzzy, velvet armchair.
Well worth the read, imo.
