Hey /lit/. I'm in the mood for a film tonight and I was hoping that you guys could recommend me some of the best films relating to literature, philosophy and/or their writers.
Heck, throw in your favourite documentaries too.
i don't think i will be doing that for you tonight OP, sorry

Capote

That's okay.

This looks really interesting, and if it is what I think it is then I'll have you know I've had a similar idea for a film knockin' around in the old noggin for a while, so of course it has been done already.

Yeah this was on my list but I'm unsure. Mainly 'cause I've never read Capote before. Though I do love Hoffman.
Just watched Todd Solondz Storytelling the other night, pretty literary, I really liked it. It's been years since I watched it, but I still think Happiness is his masterpiece, don't remember how /lit/ it was though because it was before I was paying attention to such details.

La Chiniose
https://youtu.be/SFaEY92jGHI
It's about a bunch of rich kids playing at violent political revolution.
It was the -est film for a subforum I used to lurk. I miss that place. Some great discussions on literature and philosphy. Its convoluted triple fakeposting meta irony put the lazy shitposting here to shame.

Reading any of Capote's books isn't really required. It only focuses on In Cold Blood, which was nonfiction anyway.
It is short, but for docu's I would say "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Lolita?"
Probably should read Lolita or at least some Nabokov first.
Im actually about yo watch Badlands for the first time tonight.
Also I just watched Into The Abyss last night and it's completely stunning. The fact that some of these people kinda blows my mind.
