We'll never get to see literary works like those inspired by people who lived through history in the 20th century again, will we?
Would it even be possible for someone to release masterpieces like those inspired by WWI, WWII and even Vietnman today?

I am simply wondering whether or not we'll ever get to see work as good as that produced by people who witnessed 20th century history firsthand. IMO we haven't.

I don't think we'll see anything on the scale of WWI or II levels anytime soon. Modern war hasn't really led to much great literature, definitely not in the same way as in either World Wars. I don't see that changing.
