I just finished pic related and absolutely loved it. I don't even particularly like any other story Mark Twain wrote. My favorite thing about it is the Satan character. I loved reading his lectures on how shit humanity is, even if they did get a little repetitive after a while. That ending was "holy fucking shit" amazing. There is so many great quotes throughout the whole story. So /lit/, can you recommend me any books based off of this?

Yeah, I loved this too, OP. Try his Autobiography as well as "What Is Man?"

Thanks, it looks good.

Creepy, but I liked it.

I've never really cared for biographies but I might check it out. "What Is Man" looks good though.
I legitimately never knew that Mark Twain wrote stuff like this. I only knew about his books that we read in highschool and a some of his other popular novels. These are way better.
The Story of the Good Little Boy is a good follow up

Not a lot of people do. Most of us know only the "corncobby" Twain from Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn. But he had a dark side, and it really came out later in life.
As for his autobiography, it's got a bunch of great anecdotes and musings. It's not like other biographies I've read. It's slow going at first, though.
if you like Melville, I remember finding the greasy-bleakness of Mysterious Stranger fairly similar to Pierre and the Ambiguities
you can just feel their overwhelming disappointment in humanity
