are there any books that are exceedingly "uncomfy?" You guys are always asking about how certain books are comfy, but in my experience, every fucking book provides a comfy experience.
The Conspiracy Against the Human Race
I can't believe anyone can think like that.
Beckett's Unnameable
v. uncomfy
Lord of the Rings if I'm honest.
Its got a good story but the pacing is pretty shit and the whole Tom Bombadil and scouring of the shire scenes feel very out of place.
The Hobbit is max comfiness though

I think anything by Thomas Bernhard might fit that definition, although I have only read one of his books.
Or something vile and disgusting like 120 Days of Sodom. Or perhaps a dense philosophical treatise. Anything can become a chore to read. For me, some shitty pulp or YA, like Ready Player One for example, would be very uncomfy to read.

Oh yeah, this one too.
On the other hand, as you said yourself, even pure bile like the one Bernhardt dips his quilt into might provide some comfort. It depends on one's state of mind, I suppose.

Yeah this is a good one.
I thought Molloy was very comfy, though. I suppose it was the setting that helped.
