Why isn't the tale of genji discussed? Or the translation?

Assuming the former, /lit/ is very western. Most eastern books read on /lit/ are philosophical texts (MAYBE) and more recent eastern lit which is more western in feel

It's a great great book however, stunning that it was written when it was.
