I have this problem though. There's this one hardcover edition of this greek book which is just as cheap as the paperback version of a different title from the same author, and I'm not sure if I want to get the hardcover or if I want to get the paperback version so they look nice and congruous together on my shelf.

Gravity's Rainbow is a great book, IJ not so much but good nonetheless. Concerning difficulty, they aren't that hard. Those books are like milestones for /lit/izens, people like you that started reading when they first came here. Maybe they had read a handful of books here and there but that's it.
