Have you grown hungry yet?

Two problems here: first, most people on here don't have degrees in English or Philosophy but rather just have an interest in them, and second, money isn't everything and if material wealth is your goal you will die a poor man.
Jokes on you, I'm probably going to leave with my masters in biochemistry because I don't like science anymore. Instead i spend time in the lab writing and working on my novels/stories.

>thinks obscene wealth matters
So long as we live comfortably -- which, if you're not a complete fucking moron, isn't all that hard -- then you'll be fine. If the pursuit of material gain is your only goal, then you've truly crippled yourself intellectually.

>making 6 figures seems like obscene wealth to you homeless cucks

I don't think that's what he means.
And most average couples will make six figures in combined income anyway. Even two teachers (a humanities degree) would make that much.
What about return on investment of degree vs not going to college at all and entering the workforce earlier?
E.g. (for most people) 4 extra years of income plus the cost of college unspent.

Basically the 4 years plus unspent cost invested at market rate (or risk free rate if we want to be stingy cunts) vs the invesment in a college education.

It sais in the article that today, a degree on average gives you an increase of 70% of your salary. The "education is a meme" is a meme
