My new job lets me listen to music while I work.
What are your favorite audiobooks around? Well-read, entertaining, good to have a listen while doing a boring job.

I honestly don't know whether /lit/ even talks audiobooks at all.
...I just finally have free time that I can use to listen to things, and I thought: "Hey, audiobooks."
I never got into audiobooks but podcasts are cool. Check out the Bret Easton Ellis podcast. It's mostly about the film industry but still really interesting.

I understand listening to music, but how can you focus on someone talking while you're supposed to be working? Or is it some, sit-in-a-little-box-doing-nothing-security-guard kind of thing?

In terms of audiobooks I wouldn't really know. I would listen to wacky stuff, not Brothers Karazmanov

Closest thing I've had to it so far have been the Doctor Who Audio Dramas starring the War Doctor. Shit fiction, yeah. But amazing acting with John Hurt and David Warner make up for it.

Yep. It's honestly good if you get used to it, and I've got everything under control. You gain a degree of complete automation, because you're just replying to the same exact things over and over again.
So, I need something to pay attention to while I'm there.
