I'm looking for a book to read that could be described as nothing.
I don't want drama or humor. I don't want romanticism or epiphany. I don't want philosophy or a point of view. I don't want nihilism or grittiness. I don't want lolsorandom or cleverness. I don't want cool or scandal. I don't want anything other than nothing.
Does such a book exist?
Yeah.
It's called "Facebook"

Look kids. It's another classic /lit/ zinger
The novelization of Seinfeld ?
Rosamunde Pilcher is the closest thing I can think of. Is this in the right direction OP?
Nouveau roman is what you are looking for. Read La Jalousie by Alain Robbe-Grillet, for instance.

I guess this isn't a serious suggestion.
I don't know if this film is what I'm going for but it's in the right direction:

>Controversially, he argues against "several obsolete notions" such as character, story and depth.
Thanks, that does sound very much like it.
More suggestions welcome.

Beckett?
It's not really about nothing per se but "Something happened" by Joseph Heller sort of fits the bill. It's something like 500 pages of a guy telling you about his petty family drama, work drama, love life drama but the subjective experience of reading it feels pretty empty.

What about that book your mom was writing that contains all of your achievements that she's proud of?
So far the pages are blank. That count as nothing, right?

I'd recommend À rebours by J. K. Huysmans. It's just some rich dude being rich. A little plot at the beginning and the end, but nothing really happens. I think I read that the author wanted a book that did have a plot, or something of the sort; thus the name, which means "against the grain."
Of course, when I say that I recommend it, I mean that I think it fits your description. Personally, I couldn't fucking stand it.

It has humor, and quite a lot, given the nearly nonexistent plot.
