He wasn't a positivist, he was involved in a wide range of topics, from metaphysics and epistemology to quantum mechanics interpretation and probability interpretation. In terms of sheer influence, the two giants of the 20th century are Wittgenstein and Heidegger. Of course Hegel is up there as well, if we're talking 19th century he is easily numero Uno, not only in terms of the Karl Marx connection. I would probably also throw Nietzsche in there for 19th cent.

That list is literally a masturbatory fest for analytic phil, though. Not discrediting Frege or Kripke btw.
