To Kill a Mockingbird is a complex and adult novel about race and law. Trying to say you knew enough about these topics as a child is foolish.
Hell, I read Booker T Washington's autobiography in sixth grade and Silas Marner in 8th. Both went over my head. I never properly understood animal farm until after my high school world history class.
There's no point in bragging about reading a book at an age when you can't fully understand it yen.
